Gypsum tiles

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Before starting work, measure the room(s) carefully, calculate the area of the target surfaces and buy 10% more material than is theoretically required, with a sufficient supply of the primer, adhesive, pointing compound and impregnant.
  • If you need to install corners, purchase 5% more material than you have calculated. If you buy all the material you need at once, you can be sure the tile and joint color will be consistent.
  • The variation of colors within a single box is intentional as it adds a natural look to the façade. Take tiles from a few boxes one by one to distribute tile tints evenly.
  • Ambient temperature during, and within 48 hours after, the application should not be lower than +5oC.
  • Please read the instruction from the package before proceeding with work.
  • WARNING: STEGU shall not be liable for any consequences of incorrect tile application and all claims involving sizes or colors ‘as laid’ are expressly excluded.

TARGET SURFACE

  • All the target surfaces should be correctly conditioned. They should be strong enough, uniformly textured, even, dry and free from any loose material, residues of paints, antiadhesive agents and grease.
  • Prime the target surface with, for instance, the STEGU PRIMER.

BONDING

  • Start lying the tiles from corners or most prominent places, avoiding forced cuts and joints on surfaces that you want to look perfect.
  • Remove the gypsum efflorescence created by the manufacturing process using a spatula, wire brush, scrubbing brush or similar tool.
  • Start the bonding from the bottom, resting the first row of tiles on the surface. If there is no even and horizontal support for tiles, mount a reference leveling screed on the wall using a mason’s level and a rule on a height not exceeding the height of a single row of tiles above the floor or ground. It is best to offset one row of tiles vs. the rows beneath and above (to avoid aligning the tiles/joints vertically).
  • Apply the POWERELASTIK or GIPSOLEP adhesive by following the instruction provided on the adhesive package.
  • You can cut tiles with a wood- or metal-cutting saw.

SURFACE PROOFING

  • Once done, impregnate the tiles with the STONE CARE for easier tile cleaning in the future. It is best to impregnate the tiles after 14 days from the bonding.

NANGA – gypsum tile with joint

Application instructions: Our synthetic gypsum tiles and corners are intended for indoor application only. The variation slight of size and color is due to the manufacturing process but it adds a natural look to the wall. Check the product before using it. We recommend buying tiles coming from a single manufacturing lot for the avoidance of mixing various tints. We shall not accept any complaints related to color variation between materials purchased at different times. Bond the tiles to sufficiently strong, even, dry and clean surfaces. Use the STEGU MULTIELASTIK or GIPSOLEP adhesive (see the bonding instruction provided on the adhesive package) to obtain a strong bond. If you use any other adhesive, you will be fully responsible for the result. Do not lay the tiles on surfaces hotter than 50°C or excessively humid. Coat the target surface with the STEGU primer. Take tiles from a few boxes one by one to distribute tile tints evenly. Ambient temperature during, and within 48 hours after, the application should not be lower than +5°C.

Application: Starting tiles facilitate the process of laying the tiles and must not be used as skirting boards. Before bonding the tiles, remove any dirt at the back of the tiles. Before laying the first tile, determine the level for all the highest points of the starting tile. Apply the adhesive by following the instructions provided on the adhesive package. Cut tiles to size with a wood- or metal-cutting saw. If your tiles require pointing, fill the joints with the STEGU RUSTICAL non-soiling pointing compound the adhesive has fully set by following the instructions provided on the product package. Once done, impregnate the tiles with the STEGU STONE CARE for easier tile cleaning in the future. It is best to impregnate the tiles after 14 days from the bonding. We shall not be liable for any consequences of incorrect tile application and all claims involving sizes or colors ‘as laid’ are expressly excluded.

upholstered panels

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • mollis® upholstered panels can be freely combined with each other within one series. We do not recommend assembling together panels from different series due to the possibility of minimal differences in the thickness of the panel.
  • mollis® upholstered panels are decorative products and despite their ability to absorb sound (class C), they should not be used as a substitute for professional acoustic panels.
  • Before starting work, measure the room carefully, calculate the area of the target surfaces and purchase the right amount of the panels and mounting glue or Velcro pads / tapes – depending on the chosen application method.
  • Before assembly we suggest making a test layout of panels on the floor or outlining the pattern on the wall.
  • Do not cut mollis® upholstered panels by yourself – we recommend hiring professional upholsterer if necessary.
  • When laying panels on the wall, it is worth paying attention to the uniform direction of the fabric weave.
  • Ambient temperature during and within 48 hours after the application should not be lower than +5 oC and higher than +25 oC.
  • WARNING: STEGU shall not be liable for any consequences of incorrect panel application and all claims involving sizes or colors ‘as laid’ are expressly excluded.

TARGET SURFACE

All the target surfaces should be correctly conditioned. They should be strong enough, uniformly textured, even, dry and free from any loose material as well as cleaned of residues of paints, antiadhesive agents and grease. Unstable coatings should be removed.

APPLICATION WITH MOUNTING ADHESIVE

For the application of panels, we recommend a dedicated mollis® mounting glue, which has a high initial gluing strength and has a strong bond after curing.

  • Prepare the assembly tools: glue, pencil, level and ruler.
  • Gently unpack the panel from the foil so as not to damage the product.
  • Before assembly we suggest making a test layout of panels on the floor or outlining the pattern on the wall.
  • Use a dry cloth to clean the back of the panel from speck. Next, apply glue to the panel at intervals of about 25 cm.
  • Glue the panel in place, pressing it firmly. Remember to precisely fit it in the corners.

If necessary, you have about 10 minutes after application to correct the position of the panel.

APPLICATION WITH VELCRO TAPES OR PADS

  • Prepare assembly tools: Velcro tapes or pads, pencil, cutter, level and ruler.
  • Gently unpack the panel from the foil so as not to damage the product.
  • Before assembly we suggest making a test layout of panels on the floor or outlining the pattern on the wall.
  • Dry wipe the gluing surface and then glue the tape or Velcro evenly to the panel at intervals of about 25 cm with the white side.
  • Glue the panel in a suitable place on the wall, pressing it lightly.
  • If you are making a headrest on a laminated board, glue the panel in a suitable place on the board and press lightly.

We recommend Velcro with one-sided adhesive. Just connect them together and apply to the panel in several places. Next, peel off the white protective film and attach the element in a suitable place to the wall or a smooth surface, e.g. a headrest.

LINEA decorative lamellas

APPLICATION TIPS

The manufacturer is not responsible for improper installation of panels on the wall, and complaints regarding the product size and colour after installation will not be accepted. Purchasing the necessary number of wall slats from one production batch at a time guarantees repeatability of coloring and grain.

SURFACE

  • Before starting work, carefully measure the room, calculate the area to be covered and purchase the right amount of panels and mounting glue or mechanical fasteners (screws), depending on the chosen installation method. Before the final application, we recommend laying a trial pattern on the floor or drawing guide lines on the wall.
  • Before attaching the panels, all surfaces should be load-bearing, dry and clean – free from dust, paint residues, anti-adhesives and lubricants. Any unstable coatings should be removed.
  • If you install the panels on the ceiling, check the load-bearing capacity of the structure. When installing a large number of panels, remember to always connect them to structural or other elements that strengthen the structure.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS WITH GLUE

  • Prepare the installation tools: pencil, spirit level, ruler, knife, mounting glue and glue applicator, and precision saw for wood cutting.
  • Carefully unpack each panel from the packaging so as not to damage the product.
  • Before you start the installation, you can draw guide lines on the wall.
  • Cut the panel to the required length using a wood saw or commission this service.
  • Clean the panel gluing surface with a dry clothto remove any dust. Apply the glue sinusoidally or linearly in several strips every 50 cm, maintaining a gap from the edge of the panel, so as to avoid the glue flowing outside the panel.
  • Put the panel in the required place and press it firmly against the surface. If needed, during the 10 minutes after attaching the panel to the wall, you can adjust its position by sliding it horizontally without it tearing off.
  • CAUTION! The panel installation distance from the floor must be at least 3 mm; the panels should not touch the floor.

Wood Collection wooden panels

Wood Collection panels are a natural product – they can be subject to natural discolouration over time, due to light exposition. Wood as a natural material possesses a number of properties that may appear on the surface of the panels, such as: minor grey shades, knots and cracks. These are the typical features of natural wood and therefore they does not constitute a basis for a complaint.

Keep the panels for at least 72 hours in the room where they will be installed. Installation of the panels should only be performed in interiors with low humidity.

PURE

Depending on the substrate, PURE wooden panels can be installed in 3 different ways:

  • Fix the panel to a frame made of wooden battens using a drill and screws, so that the head is aligned with the panel surface.
  • Fix the panel to the wall using a drill and screws, so that the head is aligned with the panel surface.
  • Attach the panel to the wall with a mounting adhesive.

OTHER WOOD COLLECTION PANELS

Attach the chosen panels to the wall with a mounting adhesive.

To improve resistance of Wood Collection panels to external factors, the products can be impregnated with a suitable wood protecting product. STEGU is not responsible for incorrect mounting of the panels on the wall. Any claims after mounting will not be accepted.

Flexible panels

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Check the product before application. Minor variations in size and colour are due to the nature of production and add to the natural appearance of the panelled surface.
  • We recommend purchasing the product from one production batch at a time to avoid shade differences. When examining customer claims, the manufacturer does not take into account the difference in colours of products purchased at different times and/or from different production batches.
  • The product should be selected from several packs at the same time for uniform shade distribution.
  • The ambient and substrate temperature during gluing and 48 hours after its completion should not be below +10° C and above +25° C.
  • Do not glue the product in high winds, during precipitation or when the glued surface is under direct sunlight.
  • The company is not responsible for the incorrect installation of the product. Size and colour complaints are not accepted after installation.

TARGET SURFACE

  • The product should be glued to a clean, dry, even and stable surface, free of loose coatings and residues of anti-adhesive agents.
  • First, prime the chosen surface with a STEGU PRIMER.

BONDING

  • To fix the product, apply a STEGU adhesive: POWERFLEX in a compatible colour that guarantees permanent adhesion (detailed instructions on the adhesive packaging).
  • Other adhesives are used for gluing at the sole responsibility of the customer.

INSTALLATION
1. APPLYING ADHESIVE – Before starting to glue, mark out the top glue line and the side lines if appropriate. Apply the adhesive to the target gluing surface according to the instructions on the STEGU PowerFLEX adhesive packaging, using a 4 mm notched trowel.
2. LAYING PANELS – Start gluing from the top laying line. On the applied glue, press the panel firmly from the centre to the side edges, squeezing out the excess.
3. REMOVING EXCESS ADHESIVE – Before gluing the next panel, use a spatula to remove excess adhesive along the bottom edge of the previous panel to avoid contamination with glue squeezed out through the gaps when pressing down the next panel. Clean any dirt with a wet cloth or sponge immediately after squeezing out the glue.
4. CUTTING THE PANELS – Cut the panels to size using a sharp carpet knife and an angle bar. If necessary, even out the edges with sandpaper.
5. PRESSING THE PANELS WITH A ROLLER – After laying the panels over an area of 2-3 m², press down each panel one by one with a hard roller to eliminate any hollow spaces under the panels. Immediately remove any excess glue with a wet cloth or sponge to avoid contamination.
6. IMPREGNATING – We recommend impregnating the surface 14 days after completing the work with a STEGU product: ŻYWY KOLOR, making it easy to keep the product clean.
